FEPSGA: NSC pledges N50, 000 for highest attendance monthly

The National Sports Commission (NSC) has pledged fifty thousand Naira monthly to Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDA) that emerge highest in attendance at the mandatory monthly walking and jogging exercise organized by the Federal Public Service Games (FEPSGA).

Making this known to newsmen at the Abuja national stadium during April edition of monthly walking and jogging exercise over the weekend, the director general of the NSC, Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye said that the incentive will go a long way in motivating civil servants towards the aims and objectives of FEPSGA.

“We want the civil to see sports as part as their life; we want all civil servants to make it mandatory of coming outing once in a month to exercise themselves because it help a lot.

“Civil servants spend most of their time in office performing all kind of job for the interest of the nation; it would not be bad for us to come out to exercise ourselves ahead of our herculean task.

“The NSC has set fifty thousand Naira aside to reward MDAs that emerge highest in attendances monthly, the money is not the main reason, the reason behind it is to encourage some civil servants and also tell those who seen this jogging and walking as a waste of time that the coming out go beyond exercise but avenue to interact and make new friends, “he noted.

Also speaking at the event, president of FEPSGA, Dr. Victor Orji commended the NSC for it kind gesture to ensure the dream of the body is sustain.

He however, lauded the civil servants for their massive turnout for the April edition and urged them to continue to support FEPSGA both prayer and morally to ensure the set target is achieved.

Peoples Daily Sports reports that NSCDC won the highest in attendance, NSC and Transports won best behaved and best kitted respectively in the month of April.
