No fewer than 726,000 Jigawa state primary and junior secondary school students have started enjoying free feeding by federal government with support of Jigawa state government.
Speaking at the flagging-off of the programme held at Muhammad Nuhu Sunusi Primary and Junior Secondary School Dutse, the Jigawa state Deputy Governor, Barrister Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia said, the programme is under federal government Special Intervention Programme aimed at supporting less privilege people across the country.
He said, the federal government will feed the students from primary one to three while primary four to six will be feed by Jigawa state government.
The deputy governor maintained that, the programme would not only support the child education in the state but also to boost the economy of the state.
According to him, the programme will also provide job opportunities to over 7,121 women across the state.
While making his remark, the state coordinator of Jigawa state Special Intervention Programme Alhaji Bala Usman Chamo said, state government raised a monitoring committee to go round and ensure that the programme is in order.
He urged the people in the state to continue support to the present APC administration for a better change for all in the state.
