The Federal ministry of Work and Housing has honored 37 members of it staff for their outstanding services.
Minister of Work and Housing,Babatunde Fashola made the disclosure at the 2020 recognition and reward ceremony for staff members of the ministry .
He said the thirty seven persons were recognized for their roles in ensuring service delivery and performed in their respective roles in achieving the Ministry’s mandate to the public service“.
Fashola stated that human resource is very key and efficient in any organization.
“The efficient service delivery as a demand from the public is made possible by the human resource of the ministry whose skill set is continually being sharpened to fit the contemporary challenge that arose as they work.
“I will like to say that human resource in any organization is powerful for both men and women. They are the most important resource of our community. We are the ones to designed and determine what happens to other natural resources.”.
He said government requires highly professional competence and results-oriented workforce with the impetus to effectively in any organization.
He stressed that individuals in the workforce may not have been given their rightful place in the public service .
“ The federal civil service developed programmes such as this to acknowledge their brilliant but silent roles in nation-building.Performance Management systems and rewards and recognition system was a good incentive to recognise one of their effective works,”he said
He said “We will all continue to maintain the reputation of effective service delivery in our organization“.
Also speaking, Head of Service, Mrs Folashade Yemi-Esan commended the ministry for the recognition and appreciating the contribution of staff who have shown ourstanding performance and exemplary conduct in their discharge of their duties towards the attainment of the mandates of the Ministry.
“Iam even more excited to note that despite the challenges that came with the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 in particular, some staff of the Ministry still displayed a high sense of duty and responsibility worthy of recognition.
Yemi -Esan represented Dr.Ngozi Onwudiwe congratulated all the Awardees for their performance for which you are being recognized today.
“It is my hope that you will continue to be shining stars and examples for other members of staff in the Ministry and that collectively, you all will continue to maintain the reputation of effective service delivery for which the FMW&H is known in the Public Service”
“I wish to thank the Honourable Ministers and the Permanent Secretary for ensuring that this 2020 Recognition And Reward ceremony took place in spite of all the Challenges. It is always better to be late than never.
Henry David was recognized as the best performing officer in the Press and Public Relations Unit said “I am extremely honoured to be receiving best staff award in the Press Department.
