The Permanent Secretary of federal ministry of education, David Adejo has sought inclusion of technology education in basic schools as Federal Government Girls College(FGGC) Sagamu presents a humaoid robot named Okikiola Sagamy(KIKiSAGGY).
The PS who made this known during his remark at the launching in Abuja, explained that there is need to start the ICT knowledge from basic school for more impact and effectiveness.
He said that global World will be going artificially in the next five years.
He charged all federal government colleges to follow the innovation ideology and putting more effort to create a robot that can work in their various cafeteria, citing example of a restaurant in China.
Further speaking , the Director and Principal of FGGC, Sagamu, Ogun State, Muyibat Olodo, in her speech noted that Ministry‘s efforts at exposing these students and their Coaches to the current trend in the world of technology, that is, Coding, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Robotics are sowing good seeds in Federal Unity Colleges (FUCs).

“I have led here the College’s Robotics Team consisting of some students and members of staff who are the Coaches to present to you an innovation of the College, a HUMANOID, named OKIKIOLA SAGAMU (a.k.a KikiSaggy) so that the Permanent Secretary and Directors of the Ministry would be aware of the fact that their efforts at exposing these students and their Coaches to the current trend in the world of technology, that is, Coding, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Robotics are sowing good seeds in Federal Unity Colleges (FUCs).
“You may be wondering why the choice of name for this wonderful innovation. With all humility Honourable PS Sir, the reason is that FGGC Sagamu has been known for many initiatives and innovations since I assumed duty in the College and among these is the Cow Ranch. The IS calf that one of cows birthed happened on my birthday and it was named Onaopemipo Sagamu meaning “the ways in which I am grateful are many” and Sagamu is the surname. Therefore, when another cow delivered some weeks ago, the calf was named Morenikeji Sagamu meaning “I have found my second half.
“Hence it was not out of place to give our humanoid, after this first stage of completion, a local name as our calves. Okikiola means “he fame of wealth”. Definitely, FGGC Sagamu has a wealth of knowledge in her students and teachers and at the same time Okikiola Sagamu is bringing the College to the limelight. We pray that FGGC Sagamu in particular will continue to remain in the limelight for good and all FUCs in general. Amen.
She commended the Directors especially the DSSE and DTSE for the guidance and support in ensuring that all FUCs have the resources needed to pilot the students towards this greatness and the DHRM for ensuring our demands for staffing are met and peaceful coexistence is achieved in all FUCs.
“The Founder of Coderina Education and Technology Foundation, Mr Olajide Ademola Ajayi, a great and patient mentor. He has been with us from the start till date. He has helped to provide technical assistance through some of Coaches as well as the use of some of the Foundation machines. He also connected us with Madam Lisa, who is the Coach of The Pascack Pioneers. This is the FIRST Team 1676 (FIRST means For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology).
“Team 1676 became the FIRST Tech. Challenge World Champions in the USA in 2017. It was through Madam Lisa and her team that we first learnt of the Engineering Book and other things needed if we wanted to be World Champions. They have been mentoring the College’s Team through virtual meetings since December, 2022 till yesterday.
