Troops rescue 47 from ISWAP den in Borno

Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), have rescued more than 47 people, mostly women and children held captive by ISWAP terrorists in Kangarwa, Kukawa Local Government Area of Borno State.

Captain Mohammed Goni, the spokesman of Operation Hadin Kai said the rescue operation was conducted on June 20, following sustained military operations against ISWAP positions in the Lake Chad region.

The military said the pressure from ground and air operations forced the terrorists to abandon their positions, allowing the captives to escape after spending an extended period in captivity.
