The Federal Ministry of Special Duty and Inter-Governmental Affairs is to hold a national conference on human security.
The conference billed to take place from the 24th- 25th March 2020 with the Theme, “Strategizing for community Safety” is in collaboration with the Risk and Accident Prevention society of Nigeria (RAPSON).
Minister of Special Duty and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Sen. George Akume stated this during a press briefing in Abuja at the weekend.
He said that, the three- day conference will enhance the supporting goals of community safety and human security management, that the various outcomes will positively contribute to the fight against violent crimes which sadly result in unnecessary deaths and human suffering.
The conference holding at the National Centre for Women Development with Thought Provoking Papers carefully selected resource persons and experts in community safety and security matters., to address the new security threats from chronic and persistent poverty to ethnic violence, Human trafficking, climate change, health pandemic, terrorism and sudden economic and financial downturns. In partnership with the traditional and religious leaders , security agencies and the media.
The conference organizing partners, represented by the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, RAPSON , Engr, Ben. Koko, thanked the Ministry for coming up with such gesture like this conference, that is community driven, according to him this will bring the desire security to Nigerians and promise the general public a good and far reaching resolutions which end insecurity in our communities through collaborations with the grass root peoples.
