The Executive Secretary, National Senior Secondary Education Commission (NSSEC) Dr. Benjamin Abakpa has disclosed that the Federal Government is set to promote the standard of senior secondary education to compete with global standard.
Abakpa, made this disclosure during a courtesy visit by the youthhub Africa in Abuja.
The Executive Secretary stated that the Senior Secondary Education has been in existence without a supervisory Commission and it has affected the education effectiveness to meet the needs of the society.
He added that the creation of Senior Secondary Education Commission (NSSEC) is to reposition a new Senior Secondary Education that will meet the societal need and compete with their counterparts anywhere in the world.
To achieve the objective he stated that is posed to develop education policy for Senior Secondary, that will be implemented in the country.
He further called on Development Partners to collaborate with the Commission to restore the good image of the Senior Secondary Education in the nation.
Speaking earlier the leader of the delegation of YouthhubAfrica, Mr Rotimi Olawale said the Organization is set to partner with the Commission in the area of sustaining advocacy in ensuring young people value education and improve reading culture.
