FHA Boss inaugurates task teams

Ten task teams to handle various aspects of the transformation of the Federal Housing Authority (FHA) have been set up by the organisation’s new Managing Director, Professor Mohammed Al-Amin.

A statement by the Head, Corporate communication FHA Tunde Ipinmisho said; “The teams are on dispute resolution, corporate head office, contracts and partnerships, assets and liabilities as well as income generation”.

“Others are; securing and perfecting titles to the Authority’s landholdings, special intervention, new projects as well as corporate governance and career issues”.

It further said; Inaugurating the teams at the Authority’s headquarters in Abuja, Prof. Al-Amin said the Authority’s Interim Management Team decided on the initiative as a way to generate quick action to prove to all that FHA was a viable national institution.

The statement added that wide ranging consultations had been carried out and that Management came to the conclusion that it needed to get out of the box in order to achieve its mandate within the timeline given to it by government.

It noted that; according to the FHA chief executive, although the existing organogram for the Authority would be retained, the task teams would be used as intervention structures to achieve set goals.

The statement said the Management was poised to implement wide ranging reforms that would give the Authority a new lease of life.

It said the FHA leader appreciated the Bureau for Public Enterprises (BPE) for coming up with the reform document for the Authority which he said was accompanied with a good implementation mechanism.

It however said Prof Al-Amin said the FHA Management team was of the view that members of staff, as critical stakeholders, could drive the reform agenda adding that all assignments envisaged in the reform document had been broken into assignments for the various task teams to implement.

It therefore enjoined the staff to seize the opportunity in sending strong messages to the nation that they could do it.

It also noted that the teams were being given a timeline for their assignments and that the members would articulate deliverables and their key performance indicators.

The statement further adds that; in his vote of thanks, the Executive Director, Business Development, Mr. Aniedi Akpabio assured the chief executive of the commitment and dedication of the members in working towards the realisation of said targets.
