First republic Minister, Mbazulike Amaechi cautions youths against political opportunists

Elder statesman and First Republic Minister of Aviation, Mbazulike Amaechi, has urged youths to endeavour to use the opportunity provided by the fast approaching 2023 general election to vote out government of opportunists and bring back a government of nationalists which was in place during the first republic in the 1960s.

He made the admonition at his Maryland Lodge country home, Ukpor in Nnewi South Council Area, Anambra State.

Amaechi popularly known as ‘the Boy is Good’, said the present ruling class comprised those who worked with the past military administrations from where they amassed wealth and stood their ground to rule perpetually.

The elder statesman said that the government of the 60s was a government of nationalists and not that of opportunists as we have today.

“The people who worked with the military as surrogates and amassed wealth are now in power.

“They have stolen from the country to the point of no return. After stealing our monies, Governors will go to the Senate and begin to make laws for the impoverished common man.

“Let the youths use this God-given opportunity to brush aside the All Progressives Congress, APC and their partners in corruption, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in order to reclaim their country and to take their destiny into their hands.

“It is not about Peter Obi, Labour Party, Igbo or Christians. It is about the opportunity offered by God for our youths to take back this country from the old, expired, corrupt politicians through the Labour Party. In fact, let the youths join in the labour to reclaim Nigeria. Take for instance, during our own first republic time, Dollar was 68 kobo and during the Shehu Shagari’s regime in second republic, Dollar rose to N1 and now it is N760. What a shame,” he said.

According to him, mostly Nigerian youths, deep in their minds, know that Nigeria needs real change, “not the type of change slogan the present regime used to deceive us into believing that they were for us only to come back and turn against us.”
