The family of Rev. William Okoye, Founder and General Overseer of All Christians Fellowship Mission, has fixed his burial for Oct. 9 in Anambra State.
Okoye served as Chaplain of the Aso Villa Chapel during the administrations of former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan.
He died on July 15 at the National Hospital, Abuja, aged 74, after a brief illness.
A statement made available to NAN on Friday in Abuja outlined activities for the burial.
“The programme begins with a Service of Songs at the Cathedral of Compassion, All Christians Fellowship Mission, Maitama, Abuja, on Sept. 30 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.,” the statement said.
It added that “a Night of Tributes and Honour will hold at the National Christian Centre, Abuja, on Oct. 2 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.”
“The body will depart for Anambra State ahead of a wake-keep at St. Peter’s Anglican Church Field, Agulu, on Oct. 8 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.,” it stated.
It said “the funeral service will hold at St. Peter’s Anglican Church Field, Agulu, on Oct. 9 from 9 a.m.”
The statement added that “interment will follow at Rev. William Okoye’s compound in Amatutu Village, Agulu.”
“An outing service will conclude the burial at Agulu Town Hall on Oct. 11 at 9 a.m.,” it said.
Okoye is survived by six children and nine grandchildren, including Mr Victor Okoye, a journalist with the News Agency of Nigeria
