Former Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Kaduna Polytechnic, Comrade Mustapha Yahaya Bida, has raised an alarm that despite a court injunction, some land grabbers illegally trespassed in his residence. destroying parts of the building.
Bida, who retired this year after 39 years of service, claimed that despite paying all entitlements for his allocated residence at No.13 Ribadu Road, Unguwan Rimi GRA, Gabasawa, Kaduna, his boys quarters and the fence were destroyed while a new fence has been erected despite the court injunction.
According to him, a Kaduna State High Court had issued an order of interim injunction restraining the land grabbers from trespassing, destroying, developing, or remaining on Mustapha Bida’s property pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice”.
He added that another order of interim injunction is restraining the Commissioner of Police in Kaduna State, particularly officers of the Special Investigation Bureau SIB, from inviting Comrade Mustapha Bida on the same issue of the resident pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice.
According to Comrade Mustapha Bida, the dramatic twist unfolded when he was invited by the Special Investigation Bureau SIB to inform him that part of his property at No.13 Ribadu Road, Unguwan Rimi GRA, Gabasawa, Kaduna, had been carved out and allocated to someone.
“ I appealed and requested that the Police accompany us to visit the subject property to see for themselves the false claim of a two-room BQ. The house has only one room attached to BQ, which definitely can not be carved out as ascribed by them.
“On the visit, it was glaring to the police team that what the PUC operatives or their agents carved out was part of plain land in the house and not the BQ as claimed. They know they have powers over landed properties only and not plain land. Moreover, the Gazzated procedure clearly stated that the properties be sold on an “as is and where is “ basis.
