Stakeholders of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Kano State, including three earstwhile members of Kwankwasiyya movement, have called on the National Working Committee, NWC to as a matter of urgency, dissolve the executives of the party against the control of former governor, Rabi’u Kwankwaso.
The former Kwankwasiyya loyalists are, Adamu Yunusa Dangwani, former Chief of Staff during Kwankwaso ‘s administration, Danburam Abubakar Nuhu and Yusuf Bello Dambatta, Commissioner of Information and Land and Survey respectively.
In a communique issued at the end of a meeting, held on Tuesday in Kano and signed jointly by Danbatta and Dr Akilu Indabawa, the party called on the NWC to appoint a caretaker committee to handle its affairs through election period.
The PDP caucus also raised an alarm over what they described as desperate attempt by Kwankwaso to control the party while promoting another party, New Nigeria Proples Party, NNPP.
It would be recalled that Kwankwaso had announced his plans to defect to NNPP by end of March.
However, the stakeholders alleged that Kwankwaso is planning to sabotage PDP in Kano in 2023 by plotting to cost the party to loose candidature, thereby paving way for NNPP to field a candidate in the state.
They also stated that by maintaining the PDP’s leadership under Kwankwaso, a former Senator representing Kano Central, the NWC would leave millions of the party’s supporters in limbo.
