The young girls who were from 5 different government secondary schools in FCT has been trained on innovative program in 3D printing, Augmented Reality, lazer machine and other digital innovation training.
The Director of the Foundation, Stella Uzochukwu in a chat with pressmen at the grand finale of the training in Abuja, explained that the program is aimed towards ensuring more girls get into leadership in STEM.
“So I’m going to go so we have 50 girls from female secondary school. The program that took me to where I am is actually a program to encourage more girls in STEM . The goal is for ensuring that more girls get into leadership in STEM and also become stem adults.
“So I’m exchange alumni and I’m also interested to make sure that more girls get into this program. So basically we have 3d printers, we have machines that we’re going to be given them to take back to the school so that they can also replicate most of the things we have taught so far.

FCT department of Science, Technology and innovation said that the FCT administration has really exposed their students to science and innovation.
“We encourage girl child education and that is why in FCT one of our school is government gets signed Secondary School is purely for girls to them. And they are involved their thoughts about sizes, so we catch them young so that the girls are not just the lead the hand is not just only the boys, but we want also the girls and that is why that was created purposely for that activity, you know, training girls.
“And not only that we make sure that we expose our students in science competitions. Most most of them, make sure they participate in science competition like junior engineer technicians and scientists competition and empathy creates competition any competition that is STEM related will make sure that our girl child involved or not just the girl child, even the boys also they are carried along so they can just be only the girls or the boys also. They have a part to play so everyone is carried along in this program.”
