FRSC launches ‘Operation Fushin Zuma’ to tackle traffic violations in North-West

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), RS1 Zonal Command, has launched a special enforcement operation, codenamed “Operation Fushin Zuma,” to strengthen compliance with road traffic regulations across Kaduna, Kano, Katsina and Jigawa states.

The Zonal Commanding Officer, Assistant Corps Marshal Sanusi Gambarawa, disclosed this on Monday in Kaduna during the inauguration of the operation.

Gambarawa said the initiative followed a directive from the FRSC National Headquarters after a meeting involving the Assistant Corps Marshal in charge of Operations, zonal commanders and sector commanders nationwide.

He explained that the operation was part of efforts to decentralise key operational activities from the national headquarters to the 12 zonal commands, allowing each zone to address traffic challenges peculiar to its area.

He said the exercise would reinforce compliance with traffic regulations while complementing the corps’ mandate of reducing road traffic crashes and saving lives.

Gambarawa urged motorists and other road users to cooperate with FRSC personnel, stressing that road safety remained a collective responsibility.
