FUDMA Approves Special Re-Sit Programme for Students
The Senate of the Federal University Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA) has approved dates for the conduct of the 2026 Special Re-Sit Programme for students with deficiencies in their academic records.
The approval, granted during the Senate’s 141st Regular Meeting, was to allow eligible students to address outstanding academic deficiencies and complete their programmes.
The Senate explained that the approval is in sinc with the ongoing transition from the Benchmark Minimum Academic Standard (BMAS) to the Core Curriculum and Minimum Academic Standards (CCMAS), as mandated by the National Universities Commission (NUC).
The university said the programme provides opportunity for eligible students to resolve their academic deficiencies, graduate and enable FUDMA to complete its transition to the new CCMAS framework.
Under the approved arrangements, only candidates specifically approved by the Senate will be eligible to participate in the programme.
The Senate also announced the categories of students to be considered for reinstatement.
They include those whose residency period expired, students who were absent due to sickness or financial constraints, and those seeking reinstatement and a change of programme because of low academic performance.
The registration process requires eligible applicants to obtain a departmental clearance form endorsed by their respective Heads of Department and submit it to the Academic Affairs Division at the Old ICT, Take-off Campus, where theywill obtain the Special Re-Sit/Reinstatement Application Form.
Applicants are required to pay a non-refundable central registration fee of N50,000 and N10,000 per course as the Re-Sit Examination fee through the university portal.
Following payment, candidates are expected to return to the Academic Affairs Division with evidence of payment, complete the registration process and submit all required documents.
The university warned that failure to comply with the prescribed procedures within the stipulated registration period could result in disqualification from the Special Re-Sit Programme.
According to the schedule released by the university, departmental clearance, collection of forms and registration will run from July 24 to August 9, 2026.
This will be followed by refresher lectures for Re-Sit students from August 3 to 19, while the Special Re-Sit examinations are scheduled for August 20 to 31, 2026.
Consideration of the Re-Sit examination results by departments and faculties is scheduled for September 3 to 16, 2026.
