The Katsina State Implementation Committee on the procurement and distribution of petroleum products has expressed commitment to ensure a steady supply of the product in the state.

Dr Lawal Aliyu Daura disclosed this to newsmen shortly after meeting with members of the Independent Marketers, PTD, NUPENG and other stakeholders in Katsina.

Daura who is the state Special Adviser on Human Capital Development said the meeting deliberated on the shipped adulterated fuel and efforts been made to retrieve it, as well as the supply chain.

He said the state metropolis presently gets between twelve and seventeen truck load of fuel as against the usual fifty trucks.

The Committee Chairman appealed for calm, urging motorists and other fuel users to bear with the situation as efforts are on to bring an end to the scarcity in the state.

On his part, Alhaji Abbas Hamza, the state Chairman of the Independent Marketers attributed the problem to the stoppage in the loading of fuel from available refineries and depots across the country.
