Date:

As part of measures to end the current fuel scarcity, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command in collaboration with the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) have dispelled the product freely to motorists in Bwari.
In particular, officials of NSCDC and DPR gave out the product belonging to Khalif civil oil and investment limited located at Byazin road, Bwari area council in FCT, for allegedly selling petrol the product above N143.
Also, the petrol outlet was sealed for allegedly operating without due registration.
Speaking during a visit to the station, the Group Managing Director (GMD) of NNPC, Dr. Maikanti Baru, commended the NSCDC and DPR for doing a good job for the nation.
He said, “This collaborative effort of NSCDC, DPR and NNPC is to identify stations that are erring in line with President Muhammadu Buhari directive for us as agencies to fish out those perpetuating the fuel scarcity.
“We are not going to relent until the systems are normalizing for Nigerians.”
In the same vein, the Abuja Zonal Operations Controller of the DPR, Abdul Misau Abba, said it was as a result of information made available to them by a good Samaritan that lead them to discovered the illegal filling station.
“The station had 8,000 litres of petrol. We got the call from the good Samaritan, when we can cam, we discovered the station is illegal because it is not licensed and it was selling at N250 per litre.
“We are going to give the owner one month to come and regularise the license, after that if he does not come, we will hand over the station and the people concerned to the NSCDC for prosecution.”
Also, Assistant Commandant General (ACG) operations, NSCDC, Aminu Abdullahi Kofarsoro, said his gallant officers and men are ready to enter any corner to fetch out those illegal filling stations in FCT.
He therefore called on any marketers hording the petrol to bring them out to the public at government price before the law catches up with them.
Kofarsoro appealed to residents to be patient, as the situation would be over soon as far as the government as given them the power to fetch them out.
