There was anxiety among politicians over the authentication of separate results submitted by two different groups representing the last week state House of assembly primary elections in Adamawa State.
The confusion started when two different groups came to the secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to submit separate results of the state House of assembly primaries.
The incidence occurred when the two separate groups coincidentally clashed at the PDP secretariat to submit what each claimed was the authentic results sheet of names of aspirants to contest in the state assembly election.
Investigations by our reporter however confirmed that the office of the National Organizing Committee of the party for the elections turned down the result sheet of one of the group which is believed to have been sponsored by a top politician from the state.
Addressing journalists after submitting and accepting the result of the House of assembly primaries conducted in the state, the state Organizing Secretary of PDP, Abdullahi Adamu said: “ It is true that some people are trying to doctor the result of the election of the House of Assembly primaries of Adamawa State and thank God the result sheet they came with to the party national secretariat indicating that they have conducted the election is not authentic.
“We escorted the result to the secretariat to avoid any form of manipulation and the collating officers have certified that the result we came in with is authentic.
“They (PDP) have accepted the result and right now, we are waiting for the photocopy of the report because we are taking it back to the people of Adamawa so that they will be sure of what we did.
On those who tried to tamper with the outcome of the primaries, he said: “Adamawa people know the kind of people we are fighting with, they are the ones that tampered with the delegate list and they are the same people that wrote names of the candidates from 25 House of Assembly Constituencies that we have in the state and they brought it to the national secretariat but it was rejected. Those who tampered with the delegate list are the ones who came with the fake result”.
The stakeholders expressed optimism that the National Working Committee of the party will use the result submitted.
