The GAMJI association in Kwara state has mourned the demise of the renowned Chattered Accountant, Senator David Omueya Dafinone.
The association in a statement by its director of publicity, Alh Saadu Salahu said Dafinone died at a period when his counsel was needed for the upliftment of the country.
GAMJI association described the late senator as a detribalised Nigerian who contributed immensely to nation’s development, especially northern Nigeria.
The association prayed God for the repose of the soul of the deceased and grant members of his immediate family and, indeed Nigerian nation the fortitude to bear the irreparable lose.
David Omueya Dafinone enjoyed a highly successful career, spreading over many years. Not only did he own his firm of chartered accountants, but he had held several government appointments, and had served as a director of many companies before being elected to his country’s senate in 1979.
Born on 12 1927 in Sapele, Delta state, Chief Dafinone descended from an ancient royal family that founded the kingdom of Okpe in the 15th century.
