Gbagi people support Al-Makura for second term

Date:

From Ali Abare Abubakar, Lafia.

The Gbagi people across Nasarawa state have thrown their support behind Governor Umaru Tanko Al-makura, saying the All Progressive Congress (APC) administration has done enough to better the lot of the ordinary citizens of the state.

Led by Ishaku Dahilo, the Dada Yako of Nakuse, hometown of the state chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Yunana Iliya, the paramount ruler said the Gbagis deemed it necessary to declare support for the APC administration, stressing that Al-makura has accorded the Gbagi community their right of place in the ongoing development strides.

The Dada Yako was at the Lafia Government House at the weekend, leading chiefs and prominent Gbagi sons and daughters from across Nasarawa and Toto local government areas, on a solidarity visit to Governor Al-makura.

While congratulating the Governor over his landmark achievements under three years, the Gbagi traditional ruler noted that Al-makura has indeed made a difference in the area of infrastructure development as according to the Dada Yako, “these projects can be seen all over the state.”

The Dada Yako however used the moment to urge Al-makura to not only upgrade the status of his chiefdom, from third class to second class but also consider creating more chiefdoms in the area.
