The Gwandu Emirate Development Association, (GEDA) has reiterated its commitment towards providing sound education in the Emirate, describing education as a greater priority in its development agenda of the area.
The association disclosed that it had also paid scholarship of 3 million naira for 150 students of Gwandu Emirate who are studying at Usmanu Dan Fodio University, Sokoto this year.
The Director General of Gwandu Emirate Development Association, Alh. Abubakar Ladan made this known while on Sallah courtesy call alongside members of GEDA to the Emir of Gwandu. Maj. Gen.(rtd) Mohammadu Iliyasu Bashar at his palace in Birnin Kebbi .
The DG explained that members of the association were in the palace to pay traditional Sallah homage to the Emir who is the grand patron of GEDA and also use the occasion to brief members on the achievement recorded by the association, especially with regards to the appeal fund set up to generate funds for GEDA.
He mentioned that education will receive greater priority because it is the bedrock of development of any society.
