From Ahmed Kaigama, Bauchi

A new Commandant has assumed duty at the Nigerian Army Armour School (NAAS), Bauchi, following the recent redeployment of senior officers of the Nigerian Army.

The new Commandant is Brigadier-General Dike Nnaa, who took over from Major General Austin Edokpayi who has been redeployed to the Defence Headquarters as the Director of Test and Evaluation. A seasoned senior officer, he has also headed several military formations.

Until his appointment he was the Team leader of Army Headquarters Direct Short Service Course Training Team at Jaji-Kaduna and has already assumed duty at the NAAS.

In his farewell message, the out-going Commandant expressed appreciation to officers and soldiers of the NAAS for their hard work and dedication to duty saying he had a wonderful sojourn in the school with subordinates who are highly reliable.

He charged them to maintain the standard for which the Armoured Corps is known for over the years and enjoined them to exhibit high sense of discipline at all times.

According to him, discipline is the hallmark of military profession and urged them to continue to discharge their responsibilities with all sense of maturity.
