As part of support to rejuvenate ginger farming after the devastating effect of the blight epidemic in 2023. the National Agricultural Development Fund(NADF) in collaboration with the Kaduna State Government has distributed farming inputs and relief materials to over 5,000 small-scale ginger farmers in the State.
Flagging off the distribution in Kachia Town, yesterday , the State Governor, Sen. Uba Sani said that he is pleased to announce the distribution of a support package to 5,000 smallholder ginger farmers from Southern Kaduna.
The Governor who was represented by his deputy, Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe said the package was generously provided by the federal government and includes essential resources such as NPK fertilizer, Urea, Maize and Sorghum seeds, herbicides, and crop protection products.
Gov. Sani stressed that the distribution symbolizes the collective determination of the Federal government and his administration to stand by farmers during this challenging time, to pave the way for a brighter future.
He commended the resilience and unwavering spirit of farmers who have faced adversity with courage and determination noting that their hard work and dedication form the backbone of our agricultural sector.
He added that it is the responsibility of the government to assist them in rebuilding and fortifying Nigeria’s capacity for a more resilient ginger industry.
“I assure you, my fellow citizens, that both the Kaduna State government and the federal government are fully dedicated to safeguarding ginger production in Nigeria. We are resolute in ensuring that our farmers receive the necessary resources and support to thrive once again.”
