Gombe APC Picks Jamilu Gwamna as Governorship Candidate 

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gombe State has announced Dr. Jamilu Ishiyaku Gwamna as its consensus governorship candidate for the 2027 election.

According to a statement issued on Sunday by Ismaila Uba Misilli,
Director-General, Press Affairs to the state governor, the decision was reached at an enlarged stakeholders’ meeting presided over by the party leader and Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.

The statement said that the meeting also ratified consensus candidates for the state’s three senatorial districts, six House of Representatives seats and 24 State House of Assembly constituencies.

The session was attended by Governorship, National Assembly and State Assembly aspirants, members of the State Working Committee ( EXCO), party elders, and other critical stakeholders, including national and zonal officials of the party, among others.

“The adoption of consensus candidates followed extensive consultations spearheaded by Governor Yahaya, involving senior party figures, EXCO members, aspirants and grassroots stakeholders, aimed at deepening internal cohesion, minimizing friction and projecting a united front ahead of the elections.

“This development builds on earlier series of engagements led by Governor Inuwa Yahaya, who had convened meetings with party elders, members of the State Working Committee, party officials at various levels and other critical stakeholders as part of sustained efforts to consolidate unity and strengthen the party’s structure,” the statement added.

Those adopted as candidates across the senatorial districts are, Gombe Central, DCP Mohammed Ahmadu Deba; Gombe South, Hon. Jerry Damara; and Gombe North, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.

Candidates for the House of Representatives are: Akko Federal Constituency, Hon. Usman Bello Kumo; Yamaltu/Deba, Hon. Inuwa Garba; Balanga/Billiri, Hon. Ali Isa JC; Kaltungo/Shongom, Hon. Fatima Binta Bello; Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye, Hon. Saddam Bello; and Dukku/Nafada, Hon. Jamilu Shabewa.
