The Gombe state House of Assembly has passed into law a bill to establish Gombe State Disability Commission for the protection of the rights of the people with disabilities.
This was contained in a press release issued to Journalists in Gombe by the chief information officer of the Assembly, Umaru Ma’aji.
He said that the passage of the bill was to give the disabilities equal opportunity, full participation and other related matters.
According to the statement, the bill was adopted following the report of the House committee on women affairs and social development, special duties and inter governmental affairs that was presented at the floor of the house.
Presenting the report of the committee, its chairman Gabriel Galadima Fushison representing Kaltungo west said the bill which is a private member bill sponsored by one of their colleague Shuaibu Adamu Haruna of kwami East was properly and thoroughly scrutinize to meet the needs of the constituents.
