Gombe state government has inaugurated a 21 man advisory committee to Mann the affairs of community policing.
Among the committee, the Emir of Gombe Alhaji Abubakar Shehu Abubakar will be the chairman while Gombe commissioner of police Ahmed Maikudi Shehu will serve as co-chair.
Performing the function at government house chamber yesterday in Gombe, governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya said it is necessary for government to key into these by providing adequate security to the people through community policing.
He said something urgent has to be done to protect Gombe to avoid what is happening in the neighboring states.
Governor Yahaya called on the stakeholders to double up to fight against crime even as he said security is everybody’s business.
