The Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas has advocated for more Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) interventions for Institutions of Higher Education in the state.
Agbu made this point in Abuja during the curtsey visit to the Executive Secretary of TETFund, Arc. Sonny Echono.
He stressed the need for a robust collaboration between the Taraba Government and the TETFund to ensure improved education delivery.
In a statement issued to Journalists in Jalingo by the governor’s Principal Private Secretary (PPS), Mr. Godfrey Wesley Tafida, the Governor said: “The purpose of my visit is to ensure continue collaboration between the Taraba Government and the TETFund in terms of projects and other educational assistance to our tertiary institutions.
Commending TETFund for its various infrastructure projects in tertiary institutions across the country, Agbu also asked for support in the areas of provision of more facilities, training and retraining of staff to enhance quality education in the state.
Responding, TETFund Executive Secretary, Arc. Sonny Echono, pledged more assistance for both Federal and State institutions.
“The Governor’s entourage included the Commissioner for Education Dr. Augustina Godwin, Commissioner for Information, Barr. Zainab Usman Jalingo, the Provost, College of Education, Zing, Prof. Ejika Sambo, and his PPS, Godfrey Wesley Tafida”, the statement added.
