The Kwara State Governor,Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed has urged the federal government to refund money spent on rehabilitation and construction of federal roads in the state.

The Governor also called on the federal government to live up to its electoral promises by repairing all federal roads in the state in order to protect the sanctity of lives of Nigerians.

Governor Ahmed who stated this in a condolence message on the death of three members of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association (IPMAN), Ilorin depot and a woman in two separate automobile accidents along Ilorin-Old Jebba road in Ilorin said if all roads were in good condition,many lives of Nigerians would not be wasted through avoidable accidents.

He described the death as painful, shocking and unfortunate stressing that the three IPMAN members were employers of labour with deep impact in the provision of job opportunities to the people.

The Governor noted that the forth person who was reportedly hit by a learner-driver in shop was also an employer of labour in the state.

The Governor prayed Allah to grant the deceased eternal rest and the families the fortitude to bear the loss.

The IPMAN members reportedly lost their lives when their car lost control on Oke-Oyi section of Ilorin –old Jebba road while the forth deceased was hit by a driver in her shop along the same road.
