Benue State Governor Rev. Fr Hyacinth Alia has condoled Jigawa State Governor, Umar Namadi, over the death of his mother and son, Hajiya Maryam Namadi, and Abdulwahab Umar Namadi.
Governor Namadi had lost his mother in the early hours of Wednesday, December 25th, 2024, and barely 24 hours later, his son, Abdulwahab Umar Namadi, was involved in a fatal car accident, which claimed his life.
However, Governor Alia in a condolence statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary Kula Tersoo said he received the news of the double tragedy with shock, describing it as a painful moment not just the immediate family of Governor Namadi, but the entire people of Jigawa State and Nigeria as a whole.
He urged his colleague to take solace in the fact that it is God who giveth and God who taketh away.
While he prayed to God to grant the family the fortitude to bear the painful demise of Hajiya Maryam and Abdulwahab Umar, Governor Alia equally prayed to God to grant the deceased eternal rest.
