The Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia has constituted a committee to probe the administration of his predeccesors, Samuel Ortom.
The committees are coming on the heels of the recent sacking of all categories of workers employed by Ortom.
A statement signed by Chief Press Secretary to the Govérnor Kula Tersoo and made available to the media on Sunday 11th June, 2023 said the committees are known as Probe, Assets Recovery and Benue State University, BSU Facts Finding Committee.
He also, said
one of the committees is to work at the state level, while the other at the Local Government level.
The statement added that the committee, among other things, is mandated to ascertain all assets of the government including lands, vehicles, houses, furniture and
other machinery.
Those inaugurated at the State level include, Hingah Biem as Chairman, Barr. Joe Abaagu, Hon. Dennis Akura, Hon. Ioryue Yajir, Peter Egbodo, Hon. Joseph Ojobo, Jonathan Modi, Barr. Shaageer Matins, Yuhe Jerome, Barr. Tom Uja, while Barr. Tormbuwua Terlumun is to serve as Member/Secretary.
The local government committee has the following as members, Jude Tyo PhD,Barr. Aondowase Apera, Hon. Kwaghgba Amande, Richard Dzungweve, Rt. Hon. Anthony Sende, Olofu Ogwuche, Mr. Terver Kachina, Rt. Hon. Nick Eworo – Member ss Secretary.
Similarly, the facts Finding Committee for the Benue State University (BSU) has Rt. Hon. Paul Biam as Chairman Barr. Jacob Ajene, Rt. Hon. Terkimbi Ikyange, Prof. Eugene Alyegba, Mr. Agbo Ochekpe as Member/Secretary.
According to him, “both committees will have able representatives from; Department of State Security, the Police,the Military and Nigeria Civil Defence Corps.
