From Uche Nnorom, Makurdi
Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia has warned all enemies of the State to stay away as his government will not spare anyone.
The Governor sounded this warning at his 58th Birthday celebration held at new Banquet Hall, Government House, Makurdi at the weekend.
This is even as major stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress, APC, including the Secretary to the Government of the Federation Sen. George Akume, Minister for Water Resources Prof. Joseph Utsev, the two (2) APC senators from the State and most of the House of Representative members were conspicuously absent.
Governor Alia held high a symbolic spear which was handed to him by traditional rulers from Tiv Area Traditional Council, TATC.
He stressed the commitment and determination of his administration to ensure that Benue is placed on the radar of development, announcing that a flyover will also be constructed in Otukpo, the traditional home of the Idoma nation.
“I appreciate the virtues of hard work and conscience of the poor masses. Efforts in security is yielding positive results as farmers are going back to their farms . Am a lover of peace as the common man on the street can testify that Benue is enjoying relative peace. Our renewed hope agenda which is propelled by the instrumentality of Mr. President and his Vice who are ensuring that the State enjoy peace and its sustains its status as the Food Basket of the Nation.
“You will be amazed at the level of work we will do in the next six months in the State. You are the reason why I will continue to make strides. The stones have been rolled away and Benue will move from grace to grace. For those areas we have not touched, in the next two weeks you will feel the impact of the government.
