Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia has urged Muslim communities to always strive for peace and prosperity of the nation.

He stressed that the responsibility of the Muslim communities to humanity, service and community development plays a significant part in fostering conformity and harmony amongst the nation’s diversified populace.

Governor Alia who said this in a message to Muslim Faithful on the celebration of Eld El Fitr, noted that it is a moment of celebration, gratitude, and meditation, marking the completion of Ramadan, a month devoted to prayer, fasting, and measures of kindness.

The message which was signed by his Chief Press Secretary Tersoo Kula, states, “We respect and acknowledge the invaluable contributions of the Muslim community to the rich tapestry of our state, Benue.

“I urge the Muslim faithful to use the occasion of the Eid-el-Fitr to spread love, bountiful grace, happiness and prosperity among their communities. The celebration should also inject into them the doctrine that encourages peace, tolerance, and mutual respect”.
