The Jigawa State Governor, Muhammad Abubakar Badaru has finally signed the N30,000.00 as new minimum wage for civil servant in the state.
The governor who signed the new minimum wage agreement yesterday at Government House Dutse, said the agreement will start December 2019.
“We had not failed you in the last four years and we cannot fail you this time around, up to the end of our tenure,” he said.
Also responding, the state Chairman Joint Public Negotiation Council, Comrade HASSAN Auwalu commended Governor Badaru, saying he is the first to agree to pay N30,000.00 minimum wage in the country.
He further urged the state civil servants to double up their efforts and work hard to justify the huge amount they receive as monthly salaries.
He said the increase for civil servants from grade level 1-6 who were receiving N18,000.00 minimum wage before is now 23 percent, while those in grade level 7 and above is 12 percent consequential pay.
