Niger State Governor Mohammed Umar Bago has sympathized with the Nigerian Air Force over the crash of its MI-171 Helicopter in Chukuba community in Shiroro local government area of the State.
The Governor in a message by his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, described the incident as shocking and worrisome.
He assured the Nigerian Air Force of his administration’s readiness to support it and other security agencies in the fight against banditry and other forms of crime, Governor Bago encouraged them not to relent in sustaining the fight against criminalities.
The Nigerian Air Force MI-171 Helicopter was reported to have crashed around Chukuba village in Shiroro local government area of the state after it departed Zungeru Primary School enroute to Kaduna.
Similarly, Governor, Mohammed Umar Bago has advocated continued support of the Nigerian Armed Forces in curtailing the security challenges faced by the State due to its Land mass which is the largest in the Country.
The Governor who was at the Defence Headquarters in Abuja on a courtesy visit to the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Gwabin Musa, explained that Niger State is surrounded by water bodies which makes the State vulnerable to security challenges
The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Gwabin Musa reassured the Niger state government that the Armed Forces remain committed in its quest to surmounting the insecurity in the State and the Country at large.
