Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of Bauchi State has flagged off three days free medical services at Specialist Hospital Bauchi.
Similarly, the governor has flagged off the distribution of Midwifery Kits to newly qualified basic/community, midwives, 66 motorcycle, 20 laptop computers to Primary Healthcare Centres.
Speaking at the occasion Wednesday in Bauchi, Governor Bala said the move was part of the determination of his administration towards the training of basic midwifery in the state as already funds have been released for the accreditation of courses at the College of Nursing Bauchi.
Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Mohammed Sabi’u Baba, the governor however said the funds covered for the establishment of Community Midwifery Programme, Renovation of students hostels, main library and office block, and construction of common room among others.
Governor Bala reiterated the commitment of his administration to the provision of health for all, assured that the present administration would continue to support programmes meant to facilitate the provision of basic healthcare services to the people of the state.
Earlier, the Permanent Secretary, State Ministry of Health, Dr Yahaya Yarima said the ministry has recorded remarkable achievements within the first one hundred days of the present administration of Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed.
