A social cultural organisation based in Ireland, known as Yoruba Renaissance Group has commended the actions of the Inspector General of Police and Director- General of Nigerian Council for Arts and Culture Otunba Runsewe over their proactive measures to curtail the anti-social and cultural behaviour of Idris Odukeye popularly known as Bobrisky.
This was contained in statement signed by the convener of the group, Wale Falade of County Meath, the group described the actions of the federal government as a timely intervention before such individual becomes a role model to the younger generation.
According to the statement, Nigerian law is very clear on Bobrisky’s disposition and if he has decided to continue with his anti-cultural behaviour, he has several other countries he could go to live.
“Everyone has to live within the confines of the society, if the society is frown at a particular attitude, you have to conform or seek refuge somewhere else” the statement said.
Falade stated that he is personally not against anyone to do anything of his or her choice, but such thing must be in consonance with the culture and social ethos of such society.
The group called on the National Assembly to support the police and the culture council to preserve and project our social values in positive ways.
