Gov. Buni flags-off 3-day workshop for Information Officers

To enhance the efficiency and professionalism of government information officers in Yobe State, Governor Mai Mala Buni on Monday declared open a three-day capacity-building workshop in Damaturu.

The workshop, organized by the Yobe State Ministry of Information themed: “Effective Public Communication in the Age of New Media,” is aimed at equipping participants with advanced skills in information management, digital communication, and public relations.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Governor Mai Mala Buni represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Alh. Baba Malam Wali, reiterated his administration’s commitment to empowering civil servants with the tools and knowledge necessary to meet modern-day challenges in public communication.

He noted that the role of information officers is crucial in promoting transparency, accountability, and effective governance.

“As the bridge between the government and the public, you have the responsibility of ensuring accurate and timely dissemination of information. This workshop is part of our effort to build your capacity and ensure you deliver on your mandate effectively,” Governor Buni stated.
