The Taraba state governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas on Tuesday fulfilled his pledge to the Muslim community in Donga Local Government Area, by releasing N300 million for the construction of new mosques for three Islamic sects in the area.
The move followed recent disputes over the ownership and control of the Donga Central Mosque, which had led to heightened tension and security challenges in the community.
The disagreement, involving members of Izala Jos, Izala Kaduna, Darika, and the Muslim Council in Donga, had raised concerns among residents and security agencies, which the crisis had escalated to the point where Governor Kefas had to intervene, visiting Donga to assess the situation and assure stakeholders of his administration’s commitment to restoring peace.
