The Jigawa State Governor Malam Umar Namadi, on Tuesday inspected the Gwaram Basirka Bridge, expressing satisfaction with the progress made so far.
The governor’s visit was a brief stop over on his way to Gombe, where he was eager to assess the project’s development firsthand.
This was contained in a statement signed by Hajiya Zainab Ringim, the Senior Special Assistant to the governor on media, adding that the Gwaram Basirka Bridge is a strategic infrastructure project aimed at enhancing connectivity and facilitating economic growth in the region.
“With a total cost of N6.4 billion, the project is being handled by local contractor Ojeil Construction Company Limited, while Wuri Associate serves as the consultant.”
Hajiya Zainab, disclosed that
during the inspection, Governor Umar Namadi was briefed on the project’s progress, which currently stands at 24% completion.
The statement stressed that “Despite the challenges posed by the six-month contract duration, the governor expressed optimism that the project would be completed within the stipulated timeframe.”
