The governor of Cross River State Governor, Bassey Otu has described the opposition parties as too weak to pose any form of threat to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Otu who spoke to newsmen shortly after his screening for the primary election of the party on Friday said the APC both at the national level and in his state to guarantee his reelection and that of President Bola Tinubu.
According to him, President Tinubu in just three years has done exceedingly well more than any other president that has governed the country.
“They don’t have it. Can you mention one president that has done what this President has done in under three years in all areas?
“I believe he has excelled, given the position and where we took over from. I believe he has done well. And all we can do as a party is come together. You know, the party is bigger than where it used to be, so you can imagine what is going on. It’s called a tsunami.
“Oh, the process here is very thorough. And, you know, the party has upped its game in almost all sectors that you can think about. The questions were thorough, and I believe that Nigeria will benefit from this because it’s going to produce very diligent leaders”.
Governor Otu said there is indeed nothing to worry about the victory of President Tinubu because in Cross River state, President Tinubu is the preferred candidate.
“We don’t have any storm. You know, in my own state, I think it’s just one mantra, and that is ‘Jagaban all the way.’ We don’t have issues. It is an APC state to the core, to the very foundation of it”, he concluded.
