Gov. Sule charges Fulani communities to embrace peace

Nasarawa state Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule has implored Fulani communities in Nasarawa State to always embrace peace by living in harmony with other tribes in the state as according to him, “No meaningful development cannot take place in an environment of uncertainty.”
Governor Sule who made the call yesterday when playing host to the leadership of Myetti Allah Breeder Association led by the Sarkin Fulani of Nasarawa, Doctor Senator Walid Jibrin, who paid a courtesy visit on the Governor at A.A Sule Campaign Office in Lafia, the state capital.
According to him “I urge you to remain peaceful with other tribes. You should support the peace initiative of President Buhari. Give Buhari the needed support for his administration and mine to succeed. Without peace in an area, development cannot take place”.
The Governor who assured them of his administration’s commitment to embark on the Ruga project as, according to him, “The Ruga project will add value to the Fulani communities in the areas of water, hospital schools and other social amenities”.
Governor Sule further cautioned them against indulging on criminal activities in the society, just as he said ”kidnapping, armed robbery and cattle rushing is on the increase daily which is giving the country a bad image. Please caution your children to desist from such social vices. Let them embrace education so that they can develop the society positively”, Sule added.
In his remark, the Sarkin Fulani of Nasarawa State, Senator Walid Jibrin, opined that they came to inform the Governor that the association is fully in support of government of Nasarawa State under the leadership of A.A Sule, adding that the peace process initiated between Nasarawa and Benue State by the governor was in the right path.
“We are fully committed to support you. The peace process initiated between Nasarawa and Benue State is in the right direction. We need peace so that our people can graze and add value to the development of our country”, Walid maintained.
