Gov. Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State, has nominated Abubakar Odah Akum from Nassarawa LGA as commissioner to replace Aliyu Tijani Ahmed, who was recently appointed COE of National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI) at the federal level.

Speaker Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi , announced this to members of the House at plenary (during proceedings) in the House in Lafia.

Abdullahi also explained that the nomination of Abubakar Odah Akum followed the appointment of Aliyu Tijani Ahmed as new Federal Commissioner/Chief Executive Officer of the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants, and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI) by President Bola Tinubu.

“His Excellency, Gov. Abdullahi Sule, has forwarded the name of Abubakar Odah Akum, as Commissioner and Member of Nasarawa State Executive Council to represent Nassarawa LGA.

According to the governor’s letter, “Abubakar Odah Akum is a person with proven antecedence, experience and commitment to the progress of the state,” and therefore hopes that his nomination would be given speedy consideration and confirmation, the Speaker further announced.

Ibrahim Balarabe Abdulahi therefore in his capacity as the speaker, directed the nominee to submit 30 copies of his Curriculum Vitae (CV) before the closure of work on Tuesday, October 10 this year and to present himself for screening and possible confirmation.

It would be recalled that on Sept, 2023, President BolaTinubu approved the appointment of Aliyu Tijani Ahmed, Nasarawa State Commissioner for LG and Chieftaincy Affairs as the new Federal Commissioner/Chief Executive Officer of the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants, and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI).
