Gov Yari meets Dan Ali to end killings in Zamfara

The Federal Government has concluded all arrangements to support Zamfara state efforts in getting rid of incessant killings, cattle rustling and kidnappings for ransom by dangerous groups of armed bandits across the state.
This was disclosed by the Minister of defence, Brigadier Muhammadu Mansur DanAli shortly after a closed door meeting with the state Governor, Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar and the Nigerian Army Brigade Command Sokoto, Bridgadier General Udeagbala in Gusau yesterday.
The Minister said, the Federal Government has set aside all necessary logistics and other machineries in motions with a view to end wanton killings of innocent people, destructions and rustle of animals and properties as well across Zamfara state.
According to him, launching of two constructed helipads for fighter helicopters and the deployment of Special Forces to Zamfara state shows satisfied level of Muhammadu Buhari administration’s commitments towards ensuring stoppage of high profiled criminal activities in the state.
Meanwhile, in a statement by the Assistant Director of the Army Public Relations Defence Headquarters, Major Clement Abiade said, the troops led by Brigadier General PP Malla, were drawn from various services including the Nigerian Army, the Nigerian Air force, the Nigerian Navy, the State Security Service, the Nigerian Police and the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps.
The statement further said, the Commander, 1 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Lynus Kennedy Udeagbala while briefing the DHQ team leader and some of the State Heads of security agencies in his Gusau Brigade Tactical HQs office, stated that the military is collaborating all other security agencies to return peace in Zamfara state.
“The military in conjunction with other security agencies would leave no stone unturned towards securing lives and properties of the citizens within the context of the provisions of the Nigeria Constitution as President and Commander in Chief directed that, we should never allow North West security situation degenerate to that of the North East”.
