Gov Yusuf inaugurates 2025 Hajj airlift for Kano intending pilgrims

The Executive Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusif, today inaugurated the first flight of Kano State pilgrims intending to perform this year’s Hajj pilgrimage.

Governor Abba Kabir Yusif, who was represented by the Deputy Governor, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, urged the pilgrims to be good ambassadors of the state and to pray for the peace, progress, and unity of Kano State and Nigeria at large.

In a statement by spokesman of the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Suleman Dederi, Gwarzo emphasized the government’s commitment to supporting all intending pilgrims throughout their stay in the holy land.

Earlier, according to the statement, His Royal Highness, the Emir of Kano, Malam Muhammad Sanusi II, advised the pilgrims to remain calm, orderly, and focused while performing the religious rites. He prayed for Allah’s guidance and protection for the pilgrims from departure to their safe return.

In his address, the Director General of the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Lamin Rabi’u Danbappa, stated that the first flight includes pilgrims from eleven (11) local government areas:

Ajingi LGA: 15 pilgrims (10 males, 5 females)

Tofa LGA: 17 pilgrims (12 males, 5 females)

Tudun Wada LGA: 115 pilgrims (84 males, 31 females)

Doguwa LGA: 94 pilgrims (73 males, 21 females)

Bebeji LGA: 82 pilgrims (67 males, 15 females)

Garin Malam LGA: 47 pilgrims (33 males, 14 females)

Gaya LGA: 14 pilgrims (10 males, 4 females)

Madobi LGA: 36 pilgrims (21 males, 15 females)

Kabo LGA: 18 pilgrims (13 males, 5 females)

Wudil LGA 36 Pilgrims

  (30 Males,  6 females)

Rimin Gado LGA: 33 pilgrims

Additional: 15 government officials and 10 national officials are accompanying the group to oversee pilgrim activities.

Dederi explained that a total of 560 pilgrims are being Airlifted on this Max Air flight to the Prince Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz International Airport, Madina, which departed at approximately 12:11 PM today.

Alh. Lamin Rabi’u Danbappa also noted that the Kano State Government, under the leadership of Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusif, has made all necessary arrangements to ensure the comfort, safety, and welfare of the pilgrims.

The occasion was graced by several government dignitaries including the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Alhaji Yusif Lawan, board members, commissioners, and special advisers.
