The Kaduna State Government has dismissed a social media report as false and misleading, claiming that Governor Uba Sani has endorsed certain aspirants for the National Assembly ahead of upcoming political contests.
The government called the claim a figment of the imagination of its authors and urged the public to ignore the story altogether.
In a statement issued in Kaduna by the Honourable Commissioner for Information, Malam Ahmed Maiyaki, the government clarified that Governor Uba Sani has not endorsed, appointed, or shown favoritism toward any aspirant running for any elective position.
According to the statement, the Governor remains a committed Democrat who strongly believes in a transparent, fair, and inclusive process that allows party members and stakeholders to choose candidates through the party’s constitutionally established mechanisms.
“The attention of the Kaduna State Government has been drawn to a misleading message circulating on social media claiming that Governor Uba Sani has endorsed certain aspirants for elective positions. This claim is entirely false and should be ignored,” the statement said.
Malam Maiyaki emphasized that the Governor is currently focused on providing good governance and implementing policies and programs to improve the welfare of Kaduna State residents, rather than engaging in early political endorsements.
The statement also warned individuals and groups against the deliberate spread of fake news and politically motivated misinformation, noting that such actions could create unnecessary tension within the political space and mislead the public.
The Commissioner urged political actors, supporters, and the public to verify information from credible, official sources before sharing, emphasizing that responsible communication is key to maintaining peace and political stability in the state.
He reaffirmed that Governor Uba Sani will continue respecting the democratic rights of all aspirants and party members, while ensuring that due process and the rule of law guide all political activities.
