Following the on-going insecurity bedeviling the northern region, the National Chairman of Jama’atul Izalatul bid’a wa Iqamatus Sunnah (JIBWIS), Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir has said the Nigerian government has failed to rescue and restore peace in the area.

Sheikh Jingir, who disclosed this in an interview with newsmen in Jos, said that the state of insecurity in Nigeria was worrisome and a threat to development of the country.

According to him, the challenges in the country and particularly the North-East , has left the zone as the worse -hit due to the current activities of Boko Haram, emphasizing that ` they are sponsored to spoil the image of Islam `.

The Islam cleric called on the Federal Government and the state governments to, as a matter of urgency, formulate effective policies to tackle the current insecurity in the country, coupled with the prevailing poverty as well as the growing unemployment.

Sheik Jingir noted that Nigerians are now under prosecution in their own land and said they should not be discouraged by the shortcomings of the leadership in the area of internal security, pointing out that such will surely be a history another day.
