A Group under the auspices of Christian Aid Nigeria has ended the five months COVID-19 rapid response project in Kaduna, Benue and Borno states.
The Project Manager for C19 NALPER, Christian Aid Nigeria, Mr. Fagbite Bamidele, stated this during a media interaction held in kaduna yesterday .
Bamidele explained that the project tagged: Nigeria Afghanistan Localised Preparedness Emergency Response to Primary and Secondary Impacts of COVID-19 (C19 NALPER) focused on IDPs, Returnees and vulnerable population in hard-to-reach areas in two countries: Nigeria and Afghanistan, and had commenced simultaneously in May 2020.
So far, over £1.4million was expended across the 54 locations of the project in three states in Nigeria.
Bamidele further said that the intervention is a rapid response project and cuts across recovery and livelihoods, water sanitation and hygiene, provisions of non food items, drilling of boreholes, repairs of water points, and capacity building for the benefitting communities.
