Delta State chapter of National Association of Anioma Students (NAAS) has flayed political office holder in the state for allegedly neglecting their welfare in the scheme of things over the years, even as they appealed to the state governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, to intervene.
The Association’s President, Imala Ugoachanum, in a press release he issued and signed, said “we have tried on several occasions to meet with political office holders in the state because we are not being carried along, but to no avail because they have all made themselves invisible to us as student”.
The students said that during elections, the politicians do not consult students, especially on issues concerning education or students from Anioma extraction.
Meanwhile, the International Federation of Female Lawyers (IFFL) Litigation Committee, Delta State branch, has accused Royal Clinic in Udu Local Government Area of the state of allegedly detaining two minors, Caryn Erikhioya; 16 years, and Great Favour; 14 years, for eight months against their wish over unsettled N400, 000 medical bills.
The chairman of the Association, Mary Akiyobi, who led a team of female lawyers to the clinic yesterday, disclosed that the two girls were knocked down on top of a commercial motorcycle along Udu Expressway by one Alfred Ogboru since January 2017.
