A group under the auspices of YandyTech Community Development Initiative (YandyTech Community)
has opined that the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the provision of solutions to human, social and Industrial challenges has proven successful in many nations and Nigeria should not be an exception.
The Chief Executive Officer of the group Mohammed Bayero Yayandi asserted this during a visit to the commandant of Kaduna State Vigilante Services (KADVS) at the Headquarters in Kaduna yesterday.
According to him, Nigeria’s Digital sector has grown significantly, resulting in massive amounts of data being generated daily.
He added that Kaduna citizens must be awaken to employing Information Technology Communication (ICT) tools to curb fake news.
Bayero lamented that fake news is one of the tools that the enemies of the country are using to create insecurity hence there is a need for Kaduna residents to arise and use Digital tools to counter the circulation of fake news intended to cause pandemonium in the society.
He disclosed that his organization is the kick-starting project “Kaduna Digital Peace Promotion Advocates Project (KADPAP) “and 40 Kaduna residents will be trained on digital technology and some of them will be Personnel of KADVS.
The advent of advanced data analytics and artificial intelligence (AI) provides a gateway to identify suspicious digital patterns indicative of crime.
“These technologies provide real-time transaction monitoring, allowing for a proactive approach to crime prevention,” he said.
