- Warns Dakubo over utterances

A group, the Assembly of Muslims in Nigeria over the weekend kicked against the called by National Security Adviser to President Jonathan, Colonel Sambo Dasuki while hailing the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) leadership who said they are ready for the February polls.
Addressing newsmen shortly after a one day workshop for all Muslims Organizations in the country held at the JNI headquarters in Kaduna, acting Chairman of the group, Alhaji Ishaq Kunle Sanni frowned at the called by the NSA.
He also warned ex- militant leader, Dakubo Asari who threatened bloodshed if President Jonathan loses in next month election to mind his utterances.
He called on security agents to caution Dakubo and his likes who are trying to instigate violence in the country.
“We have resolved to support INEC since they said they are ready for the next month election. Therefore, we as Muslims didn’t see the need for the postponement of the election. We are not party to it as we are also ready for the election,” he said.
He called on politicians in the country to desist from instigating people to violence, saying it’s a pity that a country as Nigeria still believes in rigging elections and violence.
He said the group looks forward for free and fair elections in the next coming polls as he called on Nigerians to come out en masse to cast their votes.
The chairman also urged INEC to ensure that its provide PVC to all eligible electorate to enable them exercise their civic duty of voting their leaders.
On Boko Haram, Alhaji Ishaq frowned at the recent killings in Baga where over 2000 innocent people were alleged to have been massacred by the insurgents.
“We are saddened to hear the numbers of people killed because we heard about 2000 people were killed but the Army said it was 150 that were killed. We expected the president to commiserate with their families but he instead, chose to commiserate with family of 12 people killed in France which is not fair” he said.
He therefore berated the federal government for not showing concerned over plight of its citizenry, saying Nigerian Muslims are not happy with such development.
The group said so far Muslims are the most affected in the Boko Haram insurgency as he called on government to end the menace in the country.
The APC chieftain further called on INEC to disregard the call and not to take it serious because every Nigerian was fully ready to the keenly participate in the February elections.
